With more than 30 years of experience as a Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist, I bring a strong foundation in language, grammar, communication, and attention to detail to every manuscript I edit. My goal is to strengthen your writing while preserving the unique voice and style that make your story your own.
I provide copy editing and proofreading with clear, constructive feedback to help polish your manuscript. When questions of style or usage arise, I reference The Chicago Manual of Style, the industry standard for most fiction.
I believe editing is a collaborative process. Many authors ask trusted friends, family members, or critique partners to review their manuscript before submitting it for professional editing. Each reader offers a different perspective, and every suggestion is simply a tool to strengthen your story. The final decisions always belong to you.

About Sandra
Hello Everyone! Let me start by sharing a bit about me. After more than 30 years as a Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist, I decided it was time to begin a new chapter. During my SLP career, I have owned a private speech therapy practice while also working in public schools, helping children ages 3–14 develop their speech and language skills. Those years gave me a deep understanding of language, communication, grammar, and the power of words.
Early Retirement gave me time to remember my love for reading and words. I became an ARC reader, launched a book review blog, and discovered a passion for helping independent authors with my notes. I realized that I love editing and this led to my new life as owner /editor of S. Aranda Literary Services!
My editing philosophy is simple. I want to help you make your manuscript shine by looking at grammar/syntax, word choice, repetitions, continuity, pace, and more. I want to share any unanswered questions I have that may help guide your final manuscript. Please know that when I read, I become fully invested. I laugh, cry, cringe, and continue thinking about the characters long after I finish the last page. I will bring this passion and love to every book I edit.
